Creating or restoring more definition at the chin/neck juncture has the ability to rejuvenate your entire appearance, making you look and feel more youthful, vital, and confident. While a facelift and/or neck lift can be great options for improving skin tone, not every patient wants or is ready for a surgical intervention. The problem with non-surgical options is that there didn’t used to be one that could significantly lift sagging skin and tissues. Until now. MyEllevate is a minimally invasive procedure to address excess fat and skin laxity in order to create a more defined-looking jawline and lifted appearance to the neck. The important thing with any non-surgical procedure, however, is proper patient selection. So, who is a good candidate for MyEllevate?
Best Candidate for MyEllevate in Boston
Something that I have always admired about my profession is that we are constantly looking for new ways to meet our patients’ needs. And patients today, particularly men, prefer a treatment with minimal downtime. Everyone’s life is busy, so time is a precious commodity. This helps explain why there’s been such an explosion in non-surgical procedures in the past decade. As mentioned, however, when it came to lifting sagging skin and tissues without surgery, there didn’t used to be hugely effective options. MyEllevate is a game-changer as it can produce a noticeable lift without significant downtime or incisions.
The best candidate for MyEllevate is going to be any man or woman in:
- Good overall health
- Nonsmoker
- Within 10 lbs of a maintainable goal weight
- Mild-to-moderate skin laxity at chin/neck juncture
- Realistic expectations
The latter is critical. Surgery is always going to be the gold standard for lifting loose skin. This does not mean that MyEllevate can’t deliver a powerful result. However, it may not be the best choice for your goals. I am always honest about what you can expect to achieve so that you are armed with all the facts and can make the appropriate decision for your lifestyle and needs.
Is There Downtime with MyEllevate?
As with most treatments, there is some necessary downtime with MyEllevate. The procedure is performed in the office under local anesthesia. While you may go home immediately afterward, you will need about four days of laying low before returning to work or school. There may be some bruising and swelling. This is your body’s natural healing response and is perfectly normal. I do ask MyEllevate patients to wear a protective chin strap for a few days to speed up recovery and ensure an exemplary result. In general, you can return to your normal routine after four days, but please refrain from intense exercise and heavy lifting for at least two weeks.
