What is Profound and how is it different?

What to expect from Profound?
Profound is a mildly invasive, RF microneedling treatment. Using five pairs of tiny needles, each fitted with a small electrode, concentrated radiofrequency energy is directed deep into the dermis, without causing any damage to the top layer of skin. Healing is therefore rapid and the healthy skin appearance returns to normal in a few days. Next, Dr. Miller will apply a topical and local anesthetic for optimal patient comfort. The provider will then glide the Profound handpiece across the predetermined area, gently delivering custom-tailored pulses of energy, each lasting approximately 3 seconds. Each Profound session will take about 45 minutes, depending on the target area and the extent of the desired correction.

Profound Vs other skin tightening treatments
The Boston Center for Plastic Surgery believes that the Profound system is superior due to its combination of microneedling and RF energy, as well as its ability to deliver RF energy directly into the dermis through the needles without causing harm or warming to the epidermis.
