The continuing popularity of a curvier looking backside is often attributed to the
“Kardashian Effect”. While I will concede that Kim and company have certainly
helped to make people more aware of the derriere, not everyone desires or needs
significant volume in their buttocks. In fact, this is an area of the body where a
little boost can make a huge difference. Furthermore, some patients do not want the
hassle of the recovery associated with a surgical butt lift. In the past, there wasn’t
really an option other than fat grafting to the buttocks. Today, however, I can offer
my Boston area patients a non-surgical butt lift with Sculptra®. The latter is an
FDA approved injectable that induces your own body to form more collagen. The
end result is plumper, firmer and more lifted tissue.
Benefits of a Non-Surgical Butt Lift with Sculptra® in Boston
The key to any successful body contouring procedure is to take an individualized
and 360° approach with every patient. Many don’t realize that the buttocks, hips,
waist and abdomen all work together. So while you may think that you need
liposuction on your love handles to improve what you don’t like about your body
contour, the better approach may be a touch more volume in the buttocks with a
non-surgical butt lift with Sculptra®. It is one of those procedures where even the
lightest touch can deliver a huge improvement. Other benefits include:
• Local (not general) anesthesia
• No incisions
• Minimal downtime
• Long lasting results ranging from 2-5 years
• May minimize the appearance of cellulite
• Lift & tighten the buttocks without surgery
• Customized to a patient’s unique anatomy & needs
• Fix the appearance of “hip dips”
The latter is real game changer as this has been an issue without a real solution.
Hip dips are caused by a lack of volume between your hip bone and the top of your
thigh. While common in very thin patients, this can also be a result of bone
structure and therefore can occur in almost any body type. Inducing your body to
produce more collagen in this area with Sculptra® allows us to increase volume in
an area that has been notoriously impossible to treat.
Non-Surgical Butt Lift Procedure & Recovery
The procedure itself is performed in the office and will take anywhere from 30
minutes to an hour depending on how many Sculptra® injections you’ll need to
deliver your desired result. Either myself or a trusted member of my staff will
begin by numbing your buttocks with a local anesthetic. This prevents any kind of
discomfort other than perhaps a slight pinching feel during the injection itself. I
will first have you stand so that I can mark the areas that require volume. Then,
you will lie on your stomach for the procedure itself.
In terms of recovery, you can expect to be a little sore, but can typically return to
your normal routine immediately. I do ask my non-surgical butt lift with Sculptra®
patients to refrain from alcohol and strenuous exercise for the first few days after
the procedure. While you will notice an change in your buttocks immediately,
these results will continue to grow and improve over the next few months as your
body produces more collagen. It is important to keep in mind that most patients
will require more than one treatment in order to achieve their goal. Furthermore, I
will often combine your Sculptra® injections with liposuction in order to create
your ideal body contour. All of these options will be discussed with you in detail
during your initial consultation.
