A dissatisfaction with the appearance of the nose is incredibly common. For some patients, their natal nose doesn’t fit their face and/or function properly. For others, an injury may have caused damage that results in an unsightly bump or crooked bridge. Regardless of the reason, a rhinoplasty is an extremely effective surgical procedure for improving the aesthetics of your nose and how well it works, allowing you to breathe more freely. Part of the recipe for achieving an exemplary result is choosing the right surgeon. As a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon and ear, nose, and throat surgeon, rhinoplasty is one of my areas of expertise. It is also one of my favorite procedures to perform as it requires intense technical skill as well as a keen artistic eye in order to create the nose that perfectly fits your individual anatomy. In terms of how much your rhinoplasty will cost, there are various factors to consider.

Cost of an Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty in Boston

At Boston Center for Plastic Surgery (BCFPS), we believe in offering our patients the latest in technological advancements such as the Piezo Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty. This is a technique in which I use ultrasonic energy to precisely sculpt and shape your nasal bones and cartilage without damaging any of the surrounding tissue. Not only does it produce a superior result, but the recovery is much faster than with a traditional technique. These are both important considerations when it comes to rhinoplasty cost. Many patients don’t think about the price tag that is associated with having to take time off from work or daily life for recovery. I do. During your initial consultation, I will be very upfront about the cost of your rhinoplasty, which starts at $20,000 and can go up depending on the extent of the operation. The price includes everything:

  • Surgeon’s fee
  • Anesthesia cost
  • Facility fee

Rhinoplasty Variables Affect Overall Cost

The overall cost of your rhinoplasty will be based on the number of elements we are addressing and how long I need to be in the operating room (OR). As mentioned, a nose job can improve the aesthetics of your nose, such as a:

  • Crooked nose
  • Misshapen nose
  • Nasal hump
  • Wide or flared nostrils

But it can also improve the function of your nose. Many people are born with structural abnormalities such as a deviated septum, for example, that can result in breathing difficulties. You may also have broken your nose in an accident or while playing sports. If we are addressing multiple concerns, it will require more time in the OR and a higher fee. Once I see you in person, I will be able to give you an accurate idea of your overall rhinoplasty cost.

Self-Confidence Boost of Rhinoplasty

One of the reasons that I love performing a nose job is that it does more than just improve the aesthetics and function of your nose. I have seen it literally transform a patient’s sense of self. Since the nose rests in the center of your face, if it is “off,” it can adversely affect your whole look. This, in turn, can have a seriously negative impact on how you feel about yourself. A rhinoplasty may provide patients with a much-needed self-confidence boost. This is something that is hard to quantify but helps explain why my rhinoplasty patients are so incredibly happy afterward.

Surgeon Expertise is Critical

Rhinoplasty is a procedure in which a surgeon’s skill can be the game-changer between a great result and a mediocre one. I pride myself on delivering fantastic, completely natural-looking outcomes. My approach to every rhinoplasty is unique. No two noses, not even between identical twins, are exactly the same. The key to creating the right nose for your unique face really comes down to creating harmony among all of your features. Sculpting a nose that is in proper proportion is a surgery of millimeters. So, you really want to find someone who has a lot of experience and an excellent artistic sense. In a big city like Boston, it may cost a bit more to see a board-certified plastic surgeon. However, an end result that doesn’t make you happy or that may require revision surgery down the line is going to cost much more.
