Breast aesthetics are like any fashion trend. They change with the times. Currently,
desirable breast size is tending towards smaller rather than larger. Patients like the
fact that they don’t need to wear a bra with less breast volume, and generally, find
smaller breasts to be easier. For many, achieving this desired aesthetic means
placing a smaller breast implant. However, some women are either born with an
overabundance of breast volume, or develop too big breasts due to menopause,
pregnancy and/or weight gain. A breast reduction is my go-to procedure for resculpting your breasts into the appropriate smaller size and shape for your unique
anatomy. But the benefits of a breast reduction far exceed just aesthetics.

Breast Reduction in Boston to Reduce Pain
One of the most common complaints that I hear from my Boston area breast
reduction patients is chronic pain. Overly large breasts may result in:
• Back pain
• Shoulder problems
• Neck pain
• Skin irritation and sores due to chafing under the breasts

Reducing the size of your breasts can help to alleviate these issues permanently.
Another added benefit is that creating smaller breasts may greatly improve your
posture. And when your spine is in better alignment, it not only helps to reduce or
eliminate chronic pain, but you will look longer, leaner and more vital. And studies
show that when you look better, you feel better.

Breast Reduction Delivers Confidence Boost
Since many of my breast reduction patients develop their large breasts during
puberty, they are often extremely self-conscious. Most grew up being teased about
their appearance, and maybe even the focus of unwanted sexual attention that
caused them to feel shy and awkward. Even if they are now adults, this tendency to
“hide” has taken a toll on their sense of self. I think that this is one of the biggest
reasons why a breast reduction has such a high patient satisfaction level. You will
simply feel more comfortable in your skin afterwards which is an enormous boon.

Easier to do Things You Love Post Breast Reduction
Besides feeling more confident, smaller breasts can allow you to do more of the
things that you love such as:
• Exercise without discomfort
• Wear certain fashions

Working out regularly is so important to both your physical and mental health, but
many women with large breasts find it difficult to run, jump or even hike without
discomfort. And there is no way to make a fashion choice that does not involve a
bra. A breast reduction will give you the freedom to live your life the way that you
want. It is why I love performing this procedure.
