Rhinoplasty is one of the more popular aesthetic procedures in the country. However, it is important to understand that there are a number of different surgical techniques when it comes to reshaping your nose. The best rhinoplasty procedure for you is not necessarily the one that is most popular on social media. Instead, the right option is always going to come down to your unique anatomy and desired outcome. For my Boston area patients whose dissatisfaction with the appearance of their nose is due to a prominent bump on the bridge and/or too much width, I am proud to offer the most advanced technique for addressing nasal bones. Here are 3 benefits of an Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty.
Superior Result with Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty
As a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon and ear, nose and throat surgeon, rhinoplasty procedures are a bedrock of my practice. I love the procedure because I have to utilize the full range of my skill set. This includes in-depth education in anatomy, years of technical training and experience and an elevated artistic eye in order to:
- Improve the appearance of the nose
- Create a nose that is more functional
For patients whose issues are due to too much bone, the ultrasonic piezo rhinoplasty is the most advanced procedure for improving the appearance of a nasal bump, or a nose that is too wide for your face. I am proud to be one of the few surgeons in the country to have mastered this cutting-edge technique. Ultrasonic piezo rhinoplasty allows me to achieve a superior aesthetic result as it gives me direct visualization inside your nose and total control to precisely remodel your bones.
Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty is Less Invasive
Another huge advantage of an ultrasonic piezo rhinoplasty versus the tradition chisel and hammer approach is that it is significantly less invasive. Performed under general anesthesia, I will make a couple of small incisions inside your nostrils and along the columella through which I’ll place a small, hand-held device that emits ultrasonic energy. This energy vibrates at a high enough frequency to dissolve bone, allowing me to re-sculpt your nasal bones in a selective, precise and much less traumatizing manner.
Less Extensive Recovery with Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty in Boston Since the technique does not put as much stress on your tissues, most of my ultrasonic rhinoplasty patients have an easier recovery. There is generally less swelling and bruising. And since it is the swelling that produces the pain, ultrasonic rhinoplasty patients often have a less painful recovery. This is still a procedure that is going to require some downtime. You’ll typically need about 2 weeks before you can return to most normal activities, but the end result is definitely worth it.
